Jessica Biel is 'not happy' after video of Justin Timberlake's DWI arrest released

Jessica Biel is not pleased after a video of her husband Justin Timberlake's 2024 arrest for driving while intoxicated was released, bringing the issue back into the spotlight.

TMZ was the first to release the police body cam from Timberlake's arrest that took place in Sag Harbor, New York. It showed the singer and actor struggling through sobriety tests, such as stumbling a few times when asked to walk a straight line.

"These are, like, hard tests," he was heard saying.

Another video showed Timberlake from his time in police custody, where he was seen jokingly questioning why the cop listed his race as white on the form.

“White?” Timberlake asked as he looked at the document. “I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding, man.”

The videos were released after Timberlake reached a settlement on March 20 with the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and local officials. The actor initially wanted to block the video's release, but according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, he eventually agreed to a redacted version of the body cam footage released as long as it "does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy."

However, a source close to his wife told the news outlet that Biel is "not happy about the renewed attention" it has brought to her husband's case.

"There's a reason they pushed back on the footage being released," the source said, adding that Biel found the issue "stressful and would prefer to move past it."

"It obviously doesn't portray him in the best light," they added.

According to the insider, Biel still has some ill feelings about what happened, but she continues to support her husband through it all.

"There have been some challenging moments lately, and she's focused on moving forward. She's the happiest when she's able to focus on family life, along with her work when she chooses to take on projects," the source stated.

"She's supportive of Justin, but she's also not afraid to express when she's disappointed in certain decisions. This was one of those moments," they added.

Timberlake was pulled over in the town of Sag Harbor in June 2024, after police observed his BMW go through a stop sign and struggle to stay within road lanes.

The officer who pulled over the singer said he was in no fit state to drive, although Timberlake has always insisted he had only one martini at the American Hotel during an evening with friends.

Sag Harbor Village Justice Court justice Carl Irace handed Timberlake a community service sentence and ordered the star to make a public statement after the singer pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of driving while alcohol impaired. The charge is a traffic violation that carries a fine between $300 (around P16,732) and $500 (around P27,887) and a 90-day license suspension.
