'RHOBH' star Brandi Glanville spent over P4 million to cure disturbing face 'parasite'

Former Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville has spent over $70,000 (P4 million) on treatments to address a "parasite" that has disfigured her face for the past year.

In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight, Glanville opened up about her health concerns and frustration with not getting a diagnosis from medical professionals.

“Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests. I did lab work for $10,000,” the 52-year-old told the outlet. “They ran every test under the sun. They’re like, ‘It could be a parasite that’s new.’”

She said she didn't go out the whole year and spent “all of my money on trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.”

The former model has already invested over $70,000 (P4 million) in temporary treatments, a significant financial strain, especially considering she hasn't been working for the last two years.

According to Glanville, the health issue started after filming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco.

“We had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat,” she recalled.

“Six months after I got back from Morocco, I started having this speaking thing and the swelling up thing. It started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out,” Glanville continued, adding that she could see and feel the "parasite" move like "tiny bubbles bursting" within her face.

The socialite said she is getting hopeless after multiple visits to different doctors.

“This is a horrible thing to say but even if it’s like a tumor, I want to know. I want to have just an answer,” Glanville said.

Glanville took to X on Dec. 7 to share a photo of the facial disfigurement she's been struggling with. In an interview with ET, she expressed her frustration, saying, “I was pissed off.”

“Because I’m so sick of the narrative that I’m sitting around having plastic surgery all the time,” she explained. “First of all, I couldn’t afford it if I wanted it. Secondly, no. When all of these mean comments were there — I might’ve had a cocktail, drinking and tweeting — but I just went off. This is why I'm sitting at home. This is why I'm not on red carpets. Because I don’t want to go out like this.”

“Everyone thinks I’m so tough but I’m fragile right now. It’s a very fragile time for me. I don’t remember a day when I haven’t cried. So leave me the f— alone,” she continued.

According to US Department of Agriculture, parasites are organisms that rely on hosts for survival and nourishment. Giardiasis, a common parasitic infection, is often linked to contaminated water but can also be contracted from consuming undercooked meat infected with G. duodenalis cysts.
