Amber Heard reportedly quit Hollywood, moves to Spain
A year after Amber Heard's defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp, the Aquaman actress has reportedly quit Hollywood and has "moved permanently" to Madrid, Spain.
Daily Mail journalist Alison Boshoff claimed in a May 4 article that Amber has "quietly relocated" to Madrid with her daughter Oonagh.
Alison said that a friend of Amber's told her: "She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise."
The source clarified though that the actress may one day go back to Hollywood "when the time is right."
"I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project."
It can be remembered that Amber sold her home in Yucca Valley, California, in July 2022 for $1.1 million and has since then spent most of her time in Spain.
"She has been living in Spain, where she gets more privacy. The trial was beyond stressful for her and she just wanted to start fresh out of the country," a source told PEOPLE.
Just last week, Amber made rounds on the internet after appearing on the trailer of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom shown during CinemaCon 2023 despite fans petitioning to remove her from the sequel.
During the trial with Johnny, Amber claimed that her screentime for Aquaman was cut down after her abuse claims were called a "hoax."
“I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film,” she said.
DC film head Walter Hamada, for her part, clarified in court that Amber's role "was determined in the early development of the script" and that she Jason Momoa lacked chemistry in the film.
