What you need to know about the new P-pop girl group XONARA

P-pop fans have a new girl group to keep on their radar: XONARA.

With their striking stage presence and confident performances, the rising girl group is quickly generating buzz in the local music scene. Even with only a few appearances so far, they’ve already managed to catch the attention of curious listeners and longtime P-pop fans alike.

As more people begin tuning in to what the group has to offer, many are now eager to learn more about the faces behind XONARA and what makes them stand out in the ever-growing world of P-pop.

Here's what you should know about them:

Who are its members?

XONARA is the first-ever girl group formed by Philippine-based talent management company 1Z Entertainment, which was established by Filipino boy band SB19.

The girl group was formed following an audition held by the agency in January 2025 for its first P-pop girl group, and from that search emerged the seven members who would eventually become XONARA.

The group is composed of Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei, and Namie—each bringing their own distinct charm, talents, and personalities to the team.

In a press conference, member Megumi explained that the meaning of their group name is a portmanteau of three different concepts: sonar, Melchora Aquino or "Tandang Sora," and the Narra tree.

"Sa sonar, we tackle 'yung voices po namin, 'yung sound po namin bilang what's intangible. For Sora, we really look up to her as a revolutionary figure, how she embodies perfectly 'yung bravery, courage, and compassion. That's what we stand for as XONARA. And Narra—ang ating national tree—it represents our resilience and our grit as XONARA," she explained.

Where have they performed?

P-pop fans first got a taste of XONARA's talents during their appearance at SB19’s Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale concert held in April.

Sporting fierce streetwear outfits, the group immediately caught the attention of concertgoers as they performed their original track Tabi, which Tin said is "very special" to them as they personally composed the song.

Eurekah went on to express her gratitude for the crowd's warm welcome to them.

"Kung alam niyo lang kung gaano kami ka-grateful and ka-blessed na makatungtong sa ganitong stage kasi dati nandyan lang naman ako, nangangarap lang naman din kami," she said.

Their first song

Following their appearance at SB19's concert, XONARA made their official debut during their launch event, “XONARA’s World,” held in Manila on May 16, where they once again lit up the stage with a performance of their song Tabi.

From the lyrics, Tabi appears to be a bold introduction song about XONARA stepping into the scene with confidence, ambition, and resilience.

To mark their debut, the group has also released the official music video of their song, which shows them dishing out powerful choreography, sleek visuals, and a performance style that leans into their fierce, high-energy concept.

As of writing, the video has garnered more than 200,000 views.
