Lily Collins bids farewell to 'Emily in Paris' after series finale wraps filming
Lily Collins is closing the book on Emily in Paris as filming wraps on the series finale.
On her Instagram account, the actress posted a picture of her sitting on the director's chair with the word "Fin" emblazoned across the back, marking the end of an era for the beloved Netflix series.
"My last day on set as Emily," she began. "I’m speechless. It’s impossible to find the words for what this journey has meant to me. For so many years, Emily has been a part of my life, and through every season, she’s continued to surprise me, inspire me, and challenge me."
She expressed her gratitude towards series creator Darren Star for "dreaming up this endlessly optimistic American girl in Paris who finds herself constantly outside of her comfort zone, learning to trust herself while leaning on others as she navigates her new life."
"I’m so grateful you trusted me to bring her to life. Thank you to our unparalleled crew, our writers, our directors, and of course our incredible cast who is now family and who I cannot imagine this without," she said.
"You have made Emily, Emily. You made this world feel like home. And merci to all of you who have been supporting us over these past 7 years and 6 seasons, keeping us inspired to dream bigger along our epic adventure," she added.
Collins highlighted how she will carry this chapter with her forever.
"Saying goodbye feels completely surreal and bittersweet, but mostly, I feel so incredibly proud and grateful that I got to be her. And be part of something so joyful. This has forever changed me. Au revoir, Emily Cooper," she ended.
Netflix confirmed in May that Emily in Paris will officially end with its upcoming sixth season.
“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us," series creator Darren Star said in a statement.
According to Netflix Tudum, the sixth season was filmed on location in Greece and Monaco, in addition to Paris.
Emily in Paris follows the story of Emily, a marketing professional who moved to Paris for a job opportunity.
Apart from Collins, other cast members include Lucas Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Thalia Besson, Arnaud Binard, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.
