Kylie Jenner's recent flex has gone wrong.

On July 16, Jenner shared a black and white photo of her and boyfriend Travis Scott with their private jets. "You wanna take mine or yours?" she wrote on the caption.

While there were some in her comments section calling their situation "goals," others have brought up the environmental implications of their personal flights.

A post from Twitter bot Celebrity Jets, which tracks the flights of the rich and famous, blew up after Jenner's photo. The tweets detailed recent private rides by the socialite which showed her take 12-minute and 17-minute flights within California on July 13 and 16.

Jenner received criticisms on both Instagram and Twitter for the short private flights, with some users calling out the gas emissions for the rides.

Others have pointed out that their efforts to save the environment, such as recycling and using paper straws, are trumped by Jenner's carbon emissions.

According to a study by Transport and Environment, the super rich, or 1% of the population, can cause up to 50% of global aviation emissions. A private jet can emit over two tons of carbon dioxide in just one hour and causes five to 14 times more pollution than commercial flights.
