Jake Zyrus’ mom Racquel Pempengco emphasized that “nothing compares” to Charice Pempengco’s voice.

Canadian musician David Foster has recently held his live show David Foster and Friends at The Theater, Solaire held last March 21-26, where Morissette Amon was included among his special guests.

In one of their performances, Morissette sang Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing, to which Racquel reacted to via Facebook post, which is now only visible to her contacts.

“[Alam] ko ang timbre ng boses na hinahanap mo DF. Sinabi ko naman sa inyo noon pa, nag-iisa lang ang boses na ‘yan,” she said, sharing Morissette and Foster’s performance.

“Kahit kanino mo pa ipakanta ‘yang song mo, ‘di mabibigyan ng hustisya,” she continued. “No goosebumps, no standing ovation, nothing compares. Nag iisang legendary ng Pilipinas si Charice Pempengco.”

Racquel also went on to clarify that it was not Foster who helped then-Charice rose to fame, but Oprah Winfrey.

“At para sa kaalaman ng lahat, hind[i] po si DF (David Foster) ang nagpasikat sa kaniya kundi si OPRAH,” she revealed, adding, “Ni-reject nga noon no DF si Charice. Kaya wag na umasa na may isasama pa, masasaktan lang.”

In a separate post, Racquel shared a side-by-side video comparing Morissette and then-Charice's rendition of I Have Nothing. She said that she was merely comparing their performances, with no intentions of starting hate.

“Hind[i] ako gumawa nito ha...share ko lang. See all the comments there, baka sabihin ako lang ang bitter at 'di [maka] move on,” she wrote.

“[We’re] just talking and comparing the past and the present there, no hate and discrimination. [Their] opinions and comments are [based] on what they hear and watch,” she said. “Anyway, thanks to all my BASHERS at trending ako ngayon.”

Jake Zyrus transitioned as a man in 2017 and has continuously been active in his music career. His latest music release is 4 Life written by John Concepcion who has collaborated with Chris Brown. He is also actively sharing song covers on his Instagram account.
