Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh files request to drop 'Pitt' from surname

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed a request to drop "Pitt" from her surname amid her parents' ongoing legal battles.

TMZ reported that Shiloh filed the request on May 27, when she turned 18 and became a legal adult. Once approved, her new name would be "Shiloh Jolie."

Shiloh isn't the only former couple's child dropping the surname "Pitt."

E! News reported that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt's name appeared as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for the new Broadway musical The Outsiders.

Jolie and Pitt got together after co-starring in the 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They share six children: Shiloh, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne, and Knox.

Their legal battles began in September 2016, when Jolie accused Pitt of raping her during a plane trip from France to Los Angeles. She also claimed Pitt “physically and verbally” assaulted her and their kids.

Jolie filed for divorce after a few days, and they were ruled legally single in 2019.

After their divorce was finalized, their legal battles continued four years later, when Pitt sued Jolie for allegedly selling her portion of their shared winery, Chateau Miraval, without consulting him.

The lawsuit claims the purported sale was "unlawful" due to "contractual agreement" breaches between Jolie and Pitt "to hold Miraval together and not sell their interests separately without the other's consent."
