American rapper DeAndre Cortez Way, also known as Soulja Boy, announced his intention to run for president of the United States in the 2028 elections.

In an Instagram post, the Crank That hitmaker shared his plans to run, featuring a photo of himself in front of the American flag.

He also established the four priorities he wants to work on once he’s elected.

“My focus is on four things: economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and AI,” Soulja Boy wrote.

He also expressed the same vision he has as a musician for public service, noting that “From music to business to technology, I’ve always believed in thinking bigger and challenging what’s possible.”

This is not the first time that a rapper has ever considered running for the Oval Office. Rapper and former Trump supporter Kanye West infamously attempted to run twice in the 2020 and 2024 elections.

Additionally, Afroman filed paperwork in 2024 and Waka Flocka Flame in 2015.

If elected, Soulja Boy could become the first rapper to become the president of the country in American history.

Currently, Donald Trump is the 47th president of the United States until the next national elections in November 2028.
