Paolo Contis said he hasn't talked to his ex-girlfriend LJ Reyes for two years now since she moved to New York—and he's trying to reach out through her lawyer.
Contis made the revelation in a recent interview with Nelson Canlas for 24 Oras' Chika Minute. Canlas and fellow Kapuso reporter Aubrey Carampel were guests on talk show Just In, which is co-hosted by Contis.
When asked about his split with Reyes in 2021 after a six-year relationship, the 39-year-old actor simply said he misses their daughter Summer so much and expressed his willingness to go to New York for her.
"I am waiting for the right time and the go signal that I can," he said. "But I am trying to contact her (Reyes) through her lawyer."
Contis reiterated that he "made mistakes," which led to the breakup. "Maraming factors kung bakit napunta doon sa state ng naghiwalay kami, pero marami pang hindi alam ang tao about the whole picture," he added.
He said he's already in a "quiet relationship" with actress Yen Santos.
Contis confirmed their real score last January and has since denied allegations that Santos, his co-star in the 2021 movie A Faraway Land, was a third party in his previous relationship with Reyes.
Third-party accusations began when Contis and Santos were spotted spending time together in Baguio on the heels of his breakup with Reyes. Contis, at the time, said Santos was just there for him "as a friend."
