Jennifer Lawrence denies involvement in Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's split: 'Not true'
Jennifer Lawrence admitted that she and Liam Hemsworth kissed "one time," but clarified that it was years after he called it quits with Miley Cyrus.
In her recent guest appearance in Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the 32-year-old star denied that she was involved in the split of the former married couple and addressed the rumors that she was one of the references in Miley's music video for her hit song Flowers, which is about female empowerment after a breakup.
“There a lot of talks that music video (of Flowers) was referencing a secret fling that you had with Liam Hemsworth while he was with Miley Cyrus,” said Andy.
The actress set the record straight and said “not true” before Andy finished his question.
"I would love to [respond]—it's not true. Total rumor,” she added.
The speculations began when fans noticed the resemblance between Miley's gold dress in the MV and Jennifer's gold dress at the Hunger Games premiere in 2012.
"I mean, we all know that me and Liam, like, kissed one time," the No Hard Feelings star said, noting that it happened “years after they broke up."
"So, I just assume that was like a coincidence," she said, referring to Miley's outfit
According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, JLaw first revealed that she and Liam kissed off-cam in her 2015 guesting on the same talk show.
She and Liam got linked after starring in The Hunger Games trilogy together.
Miley and Liam were in an on-and-off relationship since they began dating in 2009. They got engaged in 2012 but they called it off in 2013. They rekindled their romance in 2016 and tied the knot two years later. The two announced their separation in 2019 and got divorced in 2020.
