After successfully completing the 2023 Tokyo Marathon, Anne Curtis is setting her sights on a World Marathon Majors medal.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, March 8, the actress and super momma showed off her medals from the prestigious marathons she has finished, including the ones in New York, London, and Tokyo.

“And then there were 3. Halfway there. Three more to go,” she captioned her post with the hashtags: #MarathANNEventures, #NYCmarathANNEventure, #LondonmarathANNEventure, and  #TokyoMarathANNEventure.

The TV host first joined a premiere marathon in 2016 through the New York City Marathon, and then in the London Marathon in 2018 where she both finished a 42-kilometer run.

At the recently concluded Tokyo Marathon, she earned a new personal record of four hours and 50 minutes from her last best time in New York at 4:55. Her last run was in partnership with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund Philippines, aimed at “helping abused Filipino children get the support and services they need to heal and recover.”

The World Marathon Majors represents six major marathons all over the world: Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York City, and Tokyo. Runners who would complete all six would be conferred the Six Star finisher title. According to the latest data, there are over 8,000 Six Star finishers so far.

Getting the Six-Star medal

Earning a Six Star medal is not just for the pros, here’s how to achieve it:

Basically, the program requires each contestant to complete all six major marathons at their own pace—no time limit as long as they finish each race.

For starters, runners must first create Runner Portal on Abbott’s World Marathon Majors official website to keep track of their progress, since this is where they will log their finished races over time.

In submitting the records, the contestant must provide proof of the result such as a photo of their finisher certificate or a screenshot of the result. Additionally, they are required to provide a photo of their ID, like a passport or driver’s license.

As per the website, they accept records from Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City marathons since 2006 onwards and Tokyo Marathon from 2013 onwards. However, if the contestant has finished a virtual marathon, it will not count towards progress in completing the stars. Those who wish to check their rank or claim their stars, may visit here.

While having multiple completions of the same Major won’t earn you extra stars, the organizations still encourages runners to log them into their portal to earn different Six Star certificates.

As of the moment, the organization has no plans in adding an additional major to its current program but assures to notify its participants in case of any alterations.
