BLACKPINK's Lisa called a 'natural-born star' by her 'The White Lotus' co-stars

BLACKPINK's Lisa has officially said sawadeeka to Hollywood now that the highly anticipated third season of The White Lotus has dropped on Max. And it's not just her adoring fans who are singing her praises—her co-stars are also blown away by her talent, too.

During a recent media event in Bangkok, Lisa's fellow cast members couldn't stop gushing about her incredible performance as Mook, White Lotus Thailand resort's health mentor.

Parker Posey, who plays Victoria Ratliff, wife of Tim (Jason Isaacs), was awestruck when Lisa appeared in a traditional Thai costume. Having never been to Asia before, the moment resonated deeply with her.

"One of my favorite days on set was when Lisa was performing and Lisa was dressed in a traditional Thai dance costume. She looked like a painting. [I was ] just really struck by that beauty," she said.

Aside from her looks, Lisa's talent and demeanor clearly left a strong impression on her co-stars. Patrick Schwarzenegger, who plays Saxon Ratliff, Victoria and Tim's son, dubbed her a "natural-born star," praising her work ethic and talent.

"Everybody was just really incredible to work with. Of course, watching them on the screen now, getting to witness their talents, and for someone like Lisa who, I know this is her first acting debut job, she is a natural-born star and it's amazing to watch her," he said during the press junket.

Veteran Thai artist Lek Patravadi, whose career encompasses acting, playwriting, television direction/production, and teaching dramatic arts, plays Sritala, a White Lotus owner and wellness program director. She also noted Lisa's humility, a quality she felt contributed to the K-pop star's global success.

"I think she's very clever. She's a very clever girl and she is nice," she started. "I met her and because she's a big star... she came. She came talking to me. And she kneeled on the floor, put her hands here, and said, 'Teacher, teacher, what should I perform?' And this is very polite for a very famous star, you know? And acting like a little girl, a little Thai girl, talking to an adult, a very very good manner," she told the press.

Lek shared a lighthearted story about Lisa, revealing the K-pop star's practical side when it came to spending.

"We have many conversations while working and I find it strange from what we expect her to be. I said, 'Do you have a house in Los Angeles? You should have an orange tree.'
And she said, 'Oh, is it expensive? How much is it?' And I thought, 'I think you can afford an orange tree!' You expect these big stars to be extravagant, but she is a humble little Thai girl, [and] always, always polite," the Thai actress continued.

The veteran actress also believes Lisa's international flair and strong Thai cultural roots are key to her stardom.

"To me, maybe that's why she gets to be such a big thing. She has the international kind of flair, and she has the Thai culture, well brought up Thai culture, and it's still in her, so she has the best of both worlds."

The White Lotus Season 3 premieres on Monday, Feb. 17 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. It is created, written, and directed by Mike White; and executive produced by White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine.

The third iteration of the series will continue to follow the guests and employees of the White Lotus resort chain. As each day passes, their supposed relaxing stay in paradise unleashes their dark and most privileged impulses.
