Viral security guard singing at Eras Tour says it was 'easy' to get the job
The security guard who went viral a few weeks ago for singing his heart out during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has finally spoken up.
Davis Perrigo, a Swiftie and a full-time accountant, went viral when he was caught by random concertgoers singing passionately to I Knew You Were Trouble while on the job.
He told TMZ that he took the job just to watch Taylor perform at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville and shared how he was able to do it.
"It was actually surprisingly a lot easier than you would ever imagine," he told the media outlet, saying he applied for the job on the internet.
Davis continued that he even attended a Luke Combs concert at the same venue the week before and did a "test run" to "figure out how to get the best spots and where I needed to be."
When asked what his job was that evening, Davis said he was asked to make sure that "nobody rushes on the stage" and touches the barricade. He said that the crowd did well and that there weren't any incidents.
However, Taylor's actual security had to ask him to "tone it (singing) down."
"Pretty early on in the concert, you could tell like I was going really hard. Like, especially in the Reputation era. I was really getting into it," he said.
"I got told by my boss. He's like, "Look at the back. There's like that guy, he wants you to like tone it down... You can still like sing along just like try to tone it down a little bit,'" he shared.
Will Davis do it again? Looks like it.
He jokingly said he actually had a different plan on the day of the concert, which was to show up in uniform and remove it once he gets inside, and "just be a fan," but decided to do otherwise when he found the perfect spot near the stage.
"I never really intended on being next to the stage. That was kind of just lucky. So now that I figured out how to be extra safe. Yeah, maybe, maybe for some other concerts. I will I'll take that up again," the security guard said.
