Heart Evangelista gets vulnerable on social media: 'Let me normalize (occasionally) crying myself to sleep'

Heart Evangelista got more vulnerable than ever in an Instagram post as she reminded everyone that perfection "is not of this world."

The local star posted a video compilation of her beauty shots taken early in the morning, showing her teary eyes and faint smiles. "Let me normalize (occasionally) crying myself to sleep," she captioned her post.

She also left a meaningful reminder for herself and other women who might be “pressured” by the demands of society.

“Gentle reminder: 'Perfection is not of this world.’ So try not to give in to the demands of this world on how a woman should be,” she concluded.

The actress previously opened up about going through “personal struggles” in September 2022.

“I’m not going to deny that I’ve been going through some personal struggles. I feel a lot of pressure in my life. Basically now, I’m really in search of just being happy,” she said at the time.

She also bared the challenges she faced growing up in a “pressure-filled environment,” sharing that she was expected to become someone that other people wanted her to be.

“I had to fit a mold, I had to be a certain way so I will be sellable,” she said.

As a usual subject of controversies, Heart continues to learn how to handle the pressures and expectations that are set on her.

“I still have to correct them, and I love it. I love it that I do that for myself now because before, I was such a pushover,” she opened up.

“I love it because I never ever ever will let anyone do anything bad to me just a little bit. And I'm so proud of myself for finally putting my foot down,” she added.
