Adele postpones 10 Las Vegas shows due to sickness
Adele has postponed the remaining 10 shows of her Las Vegas residency to recover from her health condition.
The British singer made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday, Feb. 28, revealing that she's been fighting with the illness in the recent days.
"Sadly, I have taken a beat and [decided to] pause my Vegas residency," she began.
"I was sick at the last break and all the way through my break. I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately, it's all taken a toll on my voice," she continued.
The 35-year-old Grammy winner went on to say that she made the decision as prescribed by her doctors.
"And so on doctors' orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly," Adele wrote.
"The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information ASAP."
She concluded her post with the dates of her postponed shows: March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30.
The Easy on Me star began her residency, titled Weekends with Adele, on Nov. 18, 2022. The concert series was initially set to begin on Jan. 21, 2022 but was delayed as her team contracted COVID-19.
"We've tried absolutely everything that we can to pull it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid," Adele said in an emotional video posted on Instagram.
"Half my crew, half my team, are down with Covid, they still are. It's been impossible to finish the show."
The residency is being held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is set to conclude in June 2024. This will be followed by her 10-night concert series in Messa Arena in Munich, Germany in August.
