Kris Aquino said she and her sons Josh and Bimb tested positive for COVID-19 while she's undergoing treatment in the United States for her rare autoimmune disease.

Aquino shared a six-minute video of her in the hospital, which also had a slideshow of an open letter detailing what she's going through.

"June 29, 2022 where we are—This is what i felt you needed to know, straight from me para alam ng lahat ito ang to totoo," Kris wrote in an Instagram post June 30 Manila time.

Kris said Josh tested positive on June 20 Texas time, and her nurse woke her up to inform her of his son's test results but "couldn't understand" what the nurse was trying to tell her.

"Until Bimb came to explain and he told me to please put on a mask," she said.

They took PCR tests immediately, which came out negative on June 21.

But on June 23, Kris said she took an antigen test, as she had chills and something was "off."

"In less than five minutes both red lines had appeared," she noted, as Bimb likewise took an antigen test and tested positive for COVID-19 as well.

The latter half of the clip also had a slideshow of their moments with his late brother Noynoy Aquino, whose death anniversary took place last June 24.

Kris penned a letter to Noynoy, apologizing for greeting him late on his "first birthday in heaven" as she "shared" with him updates about her medical condition.

She said she now understands why Noynoy chose to keep his illness to himself.

"My realization came because I do feel peace and since no info will be coming from me after this post," Kris said, noting that she's closing one area of stress that she really doesn't want nor welcome.

Kris also asked Noynoy to help them survive the ordeal.

"That's why in saying my goodbye for now, at 51 years old—it was my choice to address as many issues about my health as I could while allowing myself some privacy because that decision will be made after we are totally COVID free," she said.

She thanked everybody for all the concern and prayers, but said she will "keep the suffering" to herself and inform family, and her trusted friends "on a need to know basis."

"Everyone else is also going through their own personal trials—ang hirap ng buhay para sa marami, nakakahiyang maging pabigat pa 'ko."

"So for now FOCUS tayo on ourselves. We all have problems, we all have worries, and we all have hardships."

"This isn’t a permanent goodbye," Aquino also wrote in the caption of her post. "Ibalato nyo na lang hanggang malagpasan namin itong matinding pagsubok."

"Promise, pag may good news ako, after thanking God & telling my sisters and my trusted friends—you’ll see a post from me. In God’s perfect timing…"
