Is Liza Soberano making her Hollywood debut opposite Riverdale actor Cole Sprouse?

Liza Soberano made headlines last May when she revealed her desire to pursue a Hollywood career in the United States. Later in June, the actress returned to the U.S to take up an acting course to hone her skills and hopefully gain new character roles abroad.

A fan club of James Reid, James REIDers, has speculated the casting of Soberano in the upcoming film Lisa Frankenstein, based on recent activities of the actress on Instagram.

Jessie Stafford of JSLA Events tagged the director of the film, Zelda Williams, Liza Soberano and Transparent Arts on a story featuring Kathryn Newton’s post which showed a clapper of Lisa Frankenstein on Instagram which hinted the possible appearance of the actress in the film.

“Sending you and your team all the amazing energy to kill this film!” Stafford wrote.

Shortly after, fans noticed that Lisa Frankenstein director Zelda Williams began following Soberano on Instagram along with Jessie Stafford and co-stars Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton, which further stirred up excitement among supporters.

The original Instagram story of Stafford has since expired, but screenshots have been reposted by viewers including @REIDersOfficial, a fan account of Reid, and are making the rounds online.

As reported by Deadline, the film Lisa Frankenstein is the latest reimagination of Mary Shelly's horror classic Frankenstein. Set in 1989, it "follows an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage."

The film began their first day of shooting on August 8.
