Michael Bolton revealed he had to undergo immediate surgery to remove a brain tumor, adding that he's taking a temporary break from touring.

The two-time Grammy winner gave an update on his health in a Facebook post on Saturday, Jan. 6, opening up about how the past year "ended up presenting [him] with some very unexpected challenges."

"Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success," he said, sharing that he's now recovering at home with the help of his nearest and dearest.

"For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring," the American singer-songwriter added. "It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon."

"I am beyond grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years. Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can," he continued.

The singer was scheduled to perform in Florida, California, Ohio, Louisiana, and Texas before heading to Europe in the next alf of 2024.

Michael is best known for hit songs such as How Am I Supposed to Live Without You, Said I Loved You... But I Lied, Go the Distance, and To Love Somebody, among others.
