Beauty influencer Stefanie Pieper found dead inside suitcase in remote forest

Stefanie Pieper, a 31-year-old beauty influencer, was found dead inside a suitcase in a remote forest.

Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported that the social media personality was discovered lifeless in Slovenia days after going missing.

Authorities said in a statement that they received an alert from her family's relatives after she was seen getting out of a cab following a Nov. 23 holiday party, but didn't attend a photoshoot scheduled beforehand. 

According to local media reports, Pieper told a friend via Whatsapp on Nov. 23 that she believed there was someone in her stairwell before allegedly seeing her ex-boyfriend there. They were also reportedly heard arguing by her neighbors.

She was confirmed missing when she didn't go to work and could not be contacted three days later, police said in a release.

Pieper's ex-boyfriend and his family members have been arrested in connection with the case. "Extradition to Austria has been requested," authorities said.

"The detainees are in police custody and are being questioned," they added. 

The victim's former partner admitted to strangling her before showing them where he hid her remains, according to investigators.

A probe is ongoing in both Slovenia and Austria. Police said there is "close cooperation between the two authorities."
