Blake Lively declares victory as settlement details with Justin Baldoni's Wayfarer released

Following the settlement of her lengthy legal battle with Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively has called the resolution a major win for her.

Per PEOPLE, a little over a week before the two were set to begin their trial in New York City, a Notice of Settlement and Stipulation was filed at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

On May 7, Lively's attorneys released a statement saying, "This settlement is a resounding victory for Blake Lively."

"By admitting that Ms. Lively's concerns 'deserved to be heard,' the defendants have ended once and for all the fiction that Ms. Lively fabricated claims of sexual harassment and retaliation," they added.

However, in a similar vein, Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman, who also represents Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios, announced in his own statement, "Let's be clear, this is a win and total victory for the Wayfarer parties."

Lively and Baldoni, who both starred in It Ends With Us, were entrenched in a bitter legal battle that began in December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on the movie set.

She also claimed Baldoni and his associates launched a coordinated smear campaign against her to retaliate. The online attacks allegedly cost her $290 million (P17.5 billion), per Lively.

In April, a federal judge dismissed Lively's sexual harassment claims against Baldoni. However, three claims were left intact, including retaliation. Had the settlement not pushed through, a jury would have heard these allegations starting May 18.

Earlier, in January, Baldoni claimed Lively set him up "for a trap" by refusing to use a body double for certain scenes despite being offered one. He went on to slap a $400 million (P24.2 billion) defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. It was later dismissed.
