Hailey Bieber reveals she has ovarian cysts
Hailey Bieber revealed that she has two ovarian cysts.
On her Instagram stories, the model and socialite posted a picture of herself showing off her stomach in her health update.
"Currently have two ovarian cysts. If you deal with ovarian cysts[,] I'm right there with ya!" she wrote in the caption.
According to Mayo Clinic, these are sacs that are usually filled with fluid in an ovary or on its surface, and while these are harmless "most of the time," the problem comes when they "become twisted or burst open."
These result in serious symptoms such as pelvic pain that may come and go, a feeling of heaviness in your belly, and bloating.
Most ovarian cysts cannot be prevented, but you can get an early diagnosis if you have one through regular pelvic exams.
Hailey's ovarian cyst diagnosis comes less than a year after she gave birth to her son Jack Blues with her husband Justin Bieber.
This isn't the first time that she suffered from a health complication. Back in 2022, Hailey detailed the "scariest moment" of her life after experiencing a medical brain emergency.
It started with a “weird sensation” in her right arm during breakfast as well as a “numb and weird” feeling in her fingertips. Shortly after, she was surprised she “couldn’t speak” as she tried to talk to Justin, who asked if she was okay.
“The right side of my face started drooping, I couldn’t get a sentence out. Immediately, I thought I was having a stroke,” she said.
After completing a series of tests, it was found that she had a “mini-stroke” known as a Transient Ischemic Attack. According to her scans, a blood clot made her experience a lack of oxygen to her brain.
