Ruffa Gutierrez says dad Eddie Gutierrez is now cancer-free
Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez is cancer-free, shared his daughter actress/beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez.
"I wanna share with you the good news that my dad is cancer-free," the younger Gutierrez told media on Tuesday, Oct. 27, as shared by TV5 News, at the screening of Red Crown in Taguig City.
The actress added she and her family previously did not give details on her father's health as they preferred to keep the updates private. They received the good news two weeks ago, she said.
Gutierrez also thanked her father's fans for their prayers.
"I think a lot of people prayed for my dad so I wanna thank them for their prayers. Their prayers really worked," she said, adding her father's fans introduced themselves to her when she was in New York a few months ago.
The public learned about the elder Gutierrez's health status on Dec. 10, 2025, when Ruffa asked for prayers for him. On Instagram, she posted a carousel of photos showing her family and some of her father's medical team. She accompanied the photos with a plea for prayers.
