Cha Eun-woo to lead new 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' spinoff drama
Things are going to be exciting for fans of Cha Eun Woo and the K-drama, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
According to The Hankook Ilbo and The Korea Times, Eun-woo has been cast as the male lead in a brand-new spinoff set in the same universe, taking over from original lead Lee Chae-min.
Fans should note that original stars Lim Yoon-a and Chae-min will not be returning, as the spinoff will tell a completely different story under a new title.
Negotiations are currently taking place to air the project on tvN, reports said.
The original 2025 hit drama followed a modern top chef (Yoon-a) who travels back in time and crosses paths with a tyrant king (Chae-min) with a remarkably picky palate.
The show took the world by storm, soaring to a 17.1% rating in South Korea. It also became popular worldwide, entering Netflix's Global Top 10 chart during its debut week.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty also received critical acclaim, earning nominations for Best Drama and Best Actress, while taking home the award for Best New Actor at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards.
