Stop right now—Mel B hints a Spice Girls reunion could be happening soon

Stop right now, '90s kids. Your favorite girls from your childhood are set to spice up your life once again, as Mel B has revealed that a Spice Girls reunion could be happening soon.

On May 30, British news channel Sky News interviewed Mel B for the second season of the drag talent show Queen Of The Universe in which the singer is taking part as a judge.

Apart from talking about her experiences as the show's panelist, Mel B aka "Scary Spice" also dropped another news that would likely be music to the ears of any Spice Girls fan.

According to the Wannabe singer, all five members of the Spice Girls are getting back together for a special project soon.

"We are going to be doing some stuff, all five of us pretty soon, which is going to be announced," Mel B said.

"But yeah, I like giving a little bit of a dig to my girls - 'I'm going to replace ya'—not that I ever would or I ever could anyway."

The singer-actress initially teased the project in her May 25 interview with The Sun, noting that they are set to release an official statement soon.

"My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen. But actually, we are planning on releasing a statement," Mel B said.

"What that is, I can't say right now because we're just finishing off perfecting what we're going to be doing together, all five of us, but it's going to be something that the fans are really going to love," she added.

While their plan has clearly been under wraps, Mel B later revealed that the project could include a Spice World tour.

"There will be—if I've got anything to do with it," she told Sky News.

If things go as planned, the famed group's upcoming project will be their first complete reunion in 11 years. The last time all five members—Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton—were seen together was during their performance at the London Olympics in 2012.

Seven years later, in May 2019, the group reunited for their UK stadium tour but without Victoria. The fashion designer later said that she was busy with her namesake clothing line and personal affairs at that time.

Proving that Victoria was indeed busy and nothing else, Mel B recently told The Sun that they didn't even need to convince her to join their upcoming reunion.

"Well, it's not even about convincing her. I mean she dressed me and my mum for when I got my MBE, so we've kind of always been in contact," Mel B remarked. "It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we've all got a group WhatsApp, but it's just about timing."

"She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she's got a bunch of kids so it's just about finding the right time. And we've managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon," she concluded.
