Choi Soo-young of Girls’ Generation and Jung Kyung-ho end 14-year relationship—report
After more than a decade together, Girls' Generation member Choi Soo-young and South Korean actor Jung Kyung-ho have ended their relationship.
Per Korean entertainment news website Soompi, the two stars' agencies confirmed that they have split after being together for 14 years.
"It is true that they have broken up. They have decided to remain good colleagues," Soo-young’s agency SARAM Entertainment stated.
Kyung-ho's agency Management Allum meanwhile said that it is a "private matter" and that it is "difficult to provide further details."
Soompi detailed that this was reportedly due to "increasingly busy schedules" that caused them to grow distant from each other until they "naturally went their separate ways."
Romance first bloomed between the pair in 2012, but it wasn't until two years later that they acknowledged the dating rumors and made their relationship public.
Soo-young is known for being a member of girl group Girls' Generation since 2007, which went on to become one of South Korea's most widely known girl groups worldwide.
She later took up acting and starred in various television dramas such as Tell Me What You Saw, Run On, and So I Married the Anti-fan.
Kyung-ho meanwhile rose to fame for the shows Missing Nine, Prison Playbook, and Life on Mars before further gaining prominence with the first and second seasons of Hospital Playlist.
