Ethan Slater files for divorce from wife amid Ariana Grande dating news

Ethan Slater, Ariana Grande's rumored boyfriend, has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife of five years. 

According to legal documents TMZ obtained, Ethan has decided to make the split official in New York from his estranged wife, Lilly Jay.  

The reason for the separation is undisclosed.

The news comes after reports of a budding romance between Ariana and Ethan started making rounds online. 

Sources say the two got together a few months ago while filming Wicked in England.  

TMZ also previously reported that the romance between the Wicked co-stars came as a shock to Lilly. A source said she is “devastated her family’s been torn apart” and feels her husband has abandoned them.

A source close to the two also said, "Ari and Ethan are just trying to lay low and be respectful of their exes as they pursue this new relationship." 

Ethan and Lilly were high school sweethearts. They married in 2018 and welcomed a son last August 2022.  

In May, Ethan posted a Mother’s Day greeting to his now-estranged wife on his now-private Instagram account, saying, “Happy first Mother’s Day to the most loving, caring and wonderful mom/person in the world, from me and this little guy.” Ariana also liked this post. 

Ariana and Dalton Gomez’s separation became public two years after they tied the knot.

They began dating in January 2020 and got engaged 11 months later.
