Former EXO member Tao and Chinese singer Xu Yiyang are now married
Former EXO member Huang Zitao and ex-SM Entertainment trainee Xu Yiyang have officially tied the knot.
Tao announced this on his Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site, alongside photos of the couple holding a Chinese marriage certificate.
"Goal achieved," the caption read.
Meanwhile, Yiyang also posted the same photos on her Weibo account, captioning them, "I want to have a relationship with the purpose of getting married."
She also uploaded a photo of them, flexing their marriage certificates on her Instagram account.
The two confirmed their relationship in July. According to Asia One, Yiyang met Tao in 2014. During that time, the latter was a member of EXO, while the former was a rookie member of SM Entertainment as a trainee.
Tao popped the question to Yiyang during a romantic moment on the Chinese variety show, Dare Or Not. In a heartfelt gesture, he expressed his deep love for her.
"From when we first met until this moment, from the start of our journey, everything had already been decided. You are the one who will be with me until the end. My entire life, this lifetime, every day, every moment, every night, I want that person to be you. So, this is my last challenge on the show. I dare to marry you, do you dare to accept?" he said, to whom Yiyang answered, "I dare, too."
Tao left EXO in 2015 and returned to China to establish his own agency, Z.Tao Studio.
Although Yiyang did not debut as one of the SM Entertainment rookies, she joined Tao's company, L.Tao Entertainment in 2018 and
made her debut two years later.
