ICYDK: World Cup heartthrob Cho Gue-sung was rumored to be dating these women
From the international music stages to global football fields, there's simply no stopping South Koreans from captivating people with their innate charm. The latest addition to the world's running list of Oppa heartthrobs is World Cup player Cho Geu-sung.
If you too were swooned by this South Korean striker, then here's something you should know: Apart from his World Cup fame, Geu-sung made rounds online when he was linked to two women in his home country.
One of them is the South Korean model Ji Min Joo. According to a report by local entertainment portal Soompi, Min Joo’s label LSAC initially could not confirm whether the dating allegation was true. “We don’t know much. We don’t currently know the details," the agency said.
Many eagle-eyed netizens also discovered that the two personalities were following each other on Instagram. LSAC, however, said it also couldn't comment on this issue "because it's a personal matter."
Shortly after, the agency has then denied dating rumors between Gue-sung and Min Joo, “They are not dating. We ask that you refrain from excessive speculation,” LSAC stated.
Shortly after rumors about Gue-sung and Min Joo's alleged relationship circulated, the football star was embroiled in another dating rumor but this time, with the sister of Billlie’s Haram, whose name has since been concealed.
Mystic Story, which manages the K-pop girl group, released a statement on Dec. 2, saying that it has no idea about the rumors.
“As this has to do with a member’s family and not a member of Billlie, we ask for your understanding that this is something we cannot comment on. There simply isn’t anything we know," the agency added.
Gue-sung is known not just for his football skills, but also for his charm and good looks. In a report by The Athletic, the football player had to turn off his phone after being overwhelmed with loads of ‘marriage proposals’ from fans.
He began skyrocketing to fame after scoring two goals during their match with Ghana in their second World Cup match and has earned over 2.7 million Instagram followers from 20, 000 followers at the beginning of the tournament.
