Ivana Alawi asserts she's not a homewrecker under lie detector test
Ivana Alawi stressed that she is not a homewrecker after she was named as the alleged mistress of Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez.
On her YouTube vlog, Ivana participated in a lie detector challenge with her mother Fatima and her brother Hash. They were hooked up to a real polygraph machine and answered a variety of questions from Ivana's sister Mona.
In the middle of the challenge, the actress was asked, "Ikaw ba ay nanira ng pamilya?"
Ivana did not hesitate to answer "no," which was verified by the machine as the truth.
"Hindi ako pinalaking manira ng pamilya. I respect families kasi kami nga broken family, tapos maninira ako ng family? Sira ulo ka pala eh," she asserted.
The social media star was earlier involved in a controversy when Albee's estranged wife, Dominique "Nikki" Lopez Benitez, accused him and Alawi of having an "illicit relationship."
"It was only when I received the Petition for Declaration of Nullity of Marriage filed by Respondent and after reading the admission of Respondent of having fathered two (2) illegitimate children, and his implied admissions of his current illicit relationship with Ivana Alawi, that I was able to confirm his marital infidelity," Nikki said, per a document circulating on Reddit and social media.
"I felt utterly betrayed by the Respondent and was devastated beyond compare after finally discovering and confirming the truth in the Respondent's lies," she added.
However, Albee brushed off his wife's allegations through a statement from his legal counsel Atty. Peter Sanchez, obtained by The Philippine STAR.
"Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez firmly denies the baseless and retaliatory allegations made against him by his estranged spouse," it read.
The statement emphasized the mayor's disappointment with his estranged wife for "unnecessarily" dragging names into their private matter.
Ultimately, Albee's lawyer assured that he is "fully cooperative with all legal processes and is confident that the evidence—financial records, property documents, and testimonies—will disprove" the "false" and "vindictive" claims of Nikki.
Meanwhile, Ivana has yet to directly address the allegations.
