Pinay stars of 'The Pitt' on winning Best Ensemble at 2026 Actor Awards
The Pitt bagged two awards at the 2026 Actor Awards, including Best Ensemble in a Drama Series.
This meant all of the medical drama's stars took home a coveted trophy—including Filipino-American actresses Isa Briones, Kristin Villanueva, and Amielynn Abellera.
"All of the awards are amazing and they're such honors, but this is the highest [honor and nomination]," Isa said in a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, along with her castmates Taylor Dearden, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Gerran Howell, and Alexandra Metz.
"In the past, we've gone to awards where two people got to go or five. This beast of a show takes more than five people to make. This is a real family effort and to all get to celebrate together and be recognized together is really, really [amazing]."
The Pitt season 1 stars Noah Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Fiona Dourif, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Briones, Dearden, Brooks, Howell, Metz, Brandon Mendez Homer, Joanna Going, Tracy Villar, and Krystel V. McNeil all went up on stage to receive the Best Ensemble award.
PH representation
In another interview with ET, Isa shared what being part of The Pitt means to her.
"It's something I never in my wildest dreams thought I could say. I mean, I'm the daughter of an immigrant. I'm here and I have my dad with me and it's just [special]," she said, referring to her father, Broadway star Jon Jon Briones.
She added that it's their "wildest dream" to represent the Philippines on stages like the Actor Awards.
"It's wild because everyone in the Philippines right now [is] crying and their hearts are full and very proud of this little one," Jon Jon said.
Isa noted that she believes Filipinos are the most emotional people. "We love with all our being. And so when you're a fan of something, you are going to know it. And that is the beautiful thing."
"We have very little to be proud of sometimes, but what we have is heart and talent and love, and that's what we're hanging on to," Jon Jon added.
"When we have the opportunity to show who we are, it's like you have to take that moment to celebrate it to the fullest. Unfortunately, it doesn't come very often. And we're here to be like, 'No, there needs to be more of this. We're here. We're not going away.'"
Meanwhile, Villanueva shared a short message about the win on her Instagram stories.
"Thank you so much for all who voted. I love getting to play with this cast," she wrote.
"My lovely castmates and friends, it's an honor to win this with you."
Apart from Best Ensemble, The Pitt's Noah Wyle won the Actor Award for Best Actor in a Drama.
In The Pitt, Isa plays cocky second-year resident Dr. Trinity Santos, while Kristin and Amielynn play reliable and gossip-loving nurses Princess and Perlah, respectively.
