SexBomb Girls member Cynthia Yapchingco grieves loss of partner Susan Lim
SexBomb Girls member Cynthia Yapchingco announced that her partner, concert producer Susan Lim, has passed away.
On her social media account, Yapchingco paid tribute to Lim with a heartfelt message as she detailed that the latter died on Sept. 14. The cause of death, however, was not detailed.
"When someone so full of joy bids farewell, may we remember the light they brought into our lives. Though their presence may be missed, the love, laughter, and beautiful memories they left behind will continue to live in our hearts," she wrote.
"One of my greatest blessings will always be our love and journey of us together. Thank you dahil napatunayan natin na we stayed together for better or for worse, that laughter is healing, and love is greatest legacy na pwede nating iwan behind," she added.
Yapchingco accompanied her message with pictures of them together, including a wedding photo back when they tied the knot in the US.
"My Babe Lah, I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. Thank you, and I love you. Rest in peace," she ended.
Pops Fernandez also mourned Lim’s passing as she shared some of the memories they made.
"I met Susan when she was fresh out of college. Even then, you could already see how much she loved what she did. Producing concerts wasn’t just her work—it was her passion. She had this incredible courage to take on things that seemed impossible, and somehow, she would make them happen," she said.
"I have memories of the concerts Susan produced, but one that will always stay with me was the Michael Jackson concert. Many may not know that it happened because of Susan. We all stood in the mud at the reclaimed area, where MOA now stands, just to witness the King of Pop. Looking back, that was so Susan—bold enough to dream big and crazy enough to actually make it happen," she continued.
Fernandez highlighted how Lim "left her mark on the industry," but that her "greatest legacy will always be the people she touched along the way."
"I will never forget the laughter, the memories, and the friendship. To everyone who knew Susan, let’s take a moment to say a prayer for her. Thank you, Chinese Boss, for everything. You will always be remembered, and you will always have a special place in our hearts," she said.
In the comments section, Martin Nievera also had some heartfelt words to share about him, calling her "one of a kind" and "such a generous person."
"Whatever this is and however we got to this sad day, I want to remember Susan [not as] a concert producer, but more as my dear friend I will miss very much. Even though we were always far away from each other, we always remained close. And now she will be the furthest away from us she has ever been, and I pray she is at peace," he said.
Lim is the founder of production and promotion company Big Slim Entertainment, which staged the historic 2003 F4 concert in Pasig, as well as tours for high-profile icons like Fernandez, Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, and Regine Velasquez.
