The Miss Universe pageant has another exciting surprise in store: the unveiling of the first-ever Filipino-made Miss Universe crown.

Jewelmer CEO Jacques Christophe Branellec announced on Instagram that the crown will be revealed soon in Mexico during the coronation night on Nov. 17 (Philippine time).

"From Palawan to the Universe! Off we go to Mexico City to launch the new crown of Ms Universe by Jewelmer! First time for the Universe to have a crown made in the Philippines adorned by our national gem, the golden [S]youth [S]ea pearl! Para sa bayan," Branellec wrote in his post.

According to Mega Magazine, the crown is adorned with exquisite South Sea pearls sourced from Palawan. These rare gems, which take five years to mature through 377 steps, symbolize "resilience and grace," aligning perfectly with the values of the Miss Universe pageant.

“At the heart of Jewelmer is empowering women through pearls that bring out every woman’s best,” the brand shared.

By showcasing the beauty of Philippine craftsmanship, Jewelmer hopes to ignite a sense of national pride and inspire future generations of Filipina women to dream big and achieve greatness.

“It is our hope that the crown becomes a beacon of light, guiding the dreams of Filipino generations to come,” Jewelmer said.

The Miss Universe coronation night will be held on Nov. 17 (PH Time) in Arena CDMX, Mexico. Chelsea Manalo is aiming to take home the fifth crown for the country after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).

The organization will also introduce a new format for the grand coronation night, where 30 semifinalists, instead of 20, will advance to the next round.

Additionally, four continental queens and one fan-vote winner will be announced at the end of the preliminaries, automatically securing their spots in the semifinals.

The top 12 will then compete in the evening gown competition, followed by the final five facing the judges in the Q&A round. Ultimately, the night will culminate in the crowning of the new Miss Universe and her court.
