Keke Palmer launches 'I'm a Motha' merch after being mom-shamed by her own boyfriend

Keke Palmer seemingly had an empowering response to her partner Darius Jackson's mom-shaming remarks.

The actress-singer just launched a sweatshirt that appeared to be a subtle response to her boyfriend, who recently criticized her on social media for her outfit choice. “One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“To all my mom’s out there, how did your baby change you? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good, I’m great! Look at that face! Gratitude galore,” she added.

The “I’m a Motha” sweatshirt is available in white for $45 (P2,500) at the Keke Palmer Official Store.

This comes two days after Jackson's controversial remarks about her outfit at Usher's Las Vegas show. In the viral video from the event, she can be seen wearing a black bodysuit in a sheer dress, which she matched with red lipstick and wavy hair.

It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” her boyfriend wrote on Twitter. Jackson's comment was met with backlash, with Internet users calling him "insecure” and pointing out that he should instead praise her partner for her confidence, especially since she's a new mom.

While Keke is yet to react to the issue directly, she has since been seemingly addressing it through subtle posts on social media. Just recently, the American personality said on Instagram that she wishes she was able to show more of her look at the Usher concert to her followers. “I wish I had taken more pictures,” she wrote.

Two days ago, she also posted a Tiktok video showing a remixed version of her previous interview with a publication. “You ain’t stopping what’s going on with me, sweetheart. So, if you about to act up, I’m ’bout to link up,” she dubbed in the clip.

Keke announced her pregnancy in December 2022 during her monologue for Saturday Night Live. She revealed she welcomed her first child with Jackson in February this year.
