Calling all 2nd-Gen K-pop fans! Two members of Girls’ Generation and 2PM are finally reuniting on the small screen.
Girls’ Generation Yoona and 2PM’s Junho have been confirmed as the leads of the upcoming JTBC rom-com series King The Land. According to MBC News, the K-drama tells the story of rich chaebol and a “smile queen” who discover the true meaning of happiness.
Junho will take on the role of Goo Won who is described to be a “charming and brilliant chaebol," while Yoona stars as Sarang who works as a cheerful desk hotelier, aka the "smile queen."
The pair will reportedly cross paths in the fictional “King The Land,” a VVIP business lounge that’s known as a “place of dreams” for hoteliers.
The K-drama also stars Goo Wonhee, Kim Kim Gaeun, Ahn Seha, and Kim Jaewon, per MBC News.
King The Land is set to premiere in the first half of 2023.
Prior to the casting, Yoona and Junho set K-pop fans ablaze with their cover of Señorita at MBC’s Gayo Daejun in December 2021.
