Filipina-American actress Isa Briones honored on TIME100 Next 2026
Isa Briones is now a TIME100 Next honoree!
The Filipina-American actress earned a spot in the Artists category of the "TIME100 Next 2026: The World's Most Influential Rising Stars" list, unveiled on Sept. 30. Her The Pitt co-star, Katherine LaNasa, penned a profile for the magazine, celebrating Briones' remarkable range and versatility as an actress.
"The literal funny bone of The Pitt," LaNasa wrote. “she moves between vulnerability, deadpan comedy, and gritty 'don’t even think about messing with me' moments with the ease of an actor far beyond her years.”
LaNasa also commended Briones' singing talent, praising her for her portrayal of Connie Francis in Broadway's Just in Time.
“Is there anything she can’t do!?” she wrote, noting that her "accurate" portrayal of Filipino women on screen is an "inspiration to many."
"But I personally admire Isa because she has the balls to be herself. She dresses in her own unique style, speaks truth to power, and she is kind. She shows us all that you don’t have to shape-shift to win," she ended the piece.
TIME100 Next recognizes influential rising figures across different fields "who are shaping the future."
The Artists category also recognizes several actors, including Charles Melton, Joey King, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Dominic Sessa, and Eiza González.
Fellow Filipina Alex Eala also made it to the list under the Innovators category.
Briones is the daughter of Filipino theater actor Jon Jon Briones. The actress also has a broadway background, having played Eurydice in Hadestown and later starring as Connie Francis in Just in Time.
