Cristiano Ronaldo makes history as he surpasses 1 billion followers across all social media platforms
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed one billion followers across all social media platforms.
"We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers!" Ronaldo wrote on X on Sept. 13, as she shared an art card depicting his photos in the shape of "1B."
"This is more than just a number - it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond," he added.
To date, the 39-year-old athlete has over 639 million followers on Instagram, 170.5 million followers on Facebook, 113 million on X, and 60.6 million subscribers on YouTube.
"From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together," Ronaldo said.
He told his followers that they've been with him "every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows."
"This journey is our journey, and together, we’ve shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve," he said.
"Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we’ll keep pushing, winning, and making history together," Ronaldo said.
The art card also read, "A billion dreams, one journey."
The Portugal-born Ronaldo signed for the Al Nassr club in Saudi Arabia in December 2022. His contract lasts until June 2025.
He previously played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
Throughout his football career, Ronaldo has won over 30 trophies. He was also awarded the Ballon d'Or, France Football magazine's recognition of the best football players worldwide. He also has a record of three best player titles from the Union of European Football Associations and four European Golden Shoes awards.
