Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan are teaming up for 'Expectations' remix, MV
Olivia Rodrigo is finally teaming up with Chappell Roan for the remix of Expectations, the 12th track from the Fil-Am singer's recent third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
Rodrigo confirmed the collaboration on Instagram, sharing a photo with Roan posing in a vintage yellow car with a license plate 'XPECTAT8NS' on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
“Beyond excited to announce expectations featuring Chappell Roan!!! Song and video out Thursday!!!!” Rodrigo wrote in the caption.
Reports of an Expectations remix began on Sunday when a German retailer briefly listed the single for sale before quickly taking it down.
The following day, Rodrigo teased it by sharing a short Instagram Story audio clip with a female voice saying, “Ooh, Olivia does remixes now,” leading some fans to speculate that the voice belonged to Roan.
But this collaboration comes as no surprise, as they have been friends throughout the years. In 2024, Roan opened for the Guts World Tour and has since shared the same producer, Dan Nigro. And just recently, she also performed at the all-female-led Daisy Chain Fields Festival in Irvine, California, last August.
The remix and its music video will drop Thursday, Oct. 15, at 8 p.m. ET. (Oct. 16, 9 a.m. Philippine time).
