LOOK: Sandara Park, K-idols don their Barong Tagalog for 'Idol Truck'

Our Pambansang Krungkrung is back, and she’s repping Filipino pride with her fellow K-idols.

An Instagram photo shared on Aug. 20 shows Sandara Park with rapper and radio personality DinDin, WINNER’s Jinu, and NU’EST’s JR and ARON wearing a traditional Barong Tagalog. 

This was done for the South Korean variety show Idol Truck, where celebrities are grouped into teams and are tasked to sell K-products in their assigned places.

Sandara’s team was assigned to sell their product in Clark, Pampanga.   

During the show’s first episode, Sandara was asked about her popularity in the Philippines. She replied that she’s ranked third, following former president Rodrigo Duterte and boxer Manny Pacquiao.  

“A drama inspired by me has been produced. It depicts my history with me as the main character,” she said, boosting her teammates’ confidence in achieving their mission in Pampanga. 

Since her appearance in ABS-CBN’s reality-based talent competition Star Circle Quest (SCQ) and her achievements as a member of super girl group 2NE1, Sandara has received much support from her Filipino fans.

On June 9, Sandara commented on the support she’s received despite not having any recent appearances on Filipino television shows.

“Sobrang nakakagulat at nakakaflatter na hanggang ngayon, kilalang kilala pa ako ng mag Pinoy. Maraming salamat sa love & support nyo sakin~!!!  mahal ko kayo~!!! Forever~!!!" she said.

Sandara will be coming back to the Philippines for the “AWAKE: A New Beginning” show on Sept. 23, to be held at the City di Mare Events Grounds in Cebu City.
