Janella Salvador drew laughs as she asked for an explanation for the smoked fish she received from a fan during a Darna mall show in Bataan.

In a viral tweet on Sunday, Jan. 29, the actress thanked her fans for all the presents she got and jokingly said she needs to know why one of her supporters decided to give her a smoked fish. 

“Hi vadengs, thank you for the gifts ha but I think I need an explanation for this one,” she wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo of the gift alongside a selfie with the text: “I am confusion.” 

“Looks pretty (bomb) tho,” she added. 

Even her Twitter followers were left confused by the fan's gift as some of them asked the same question in the thread.

“Gusto ko lang din malaman bakit?” wrote an Internet user.

“Mother, sino nagbigay niyan?” another one tweeted, adding laughing emojis. 

“Tabi mo daw sa pagtulog,” a social media user joked. 

A fan claimed he was the one who gave the smoked fish to Janella in the same thread, pointing out that tinapa is one of Bataan's famous delicacies. "Hindi naman sila makakagala dito kaya binigyan ko na ng specialty namin," he tweeted. The fan said he gave the same thing to Jane de Leon, Janella's co-star in ABS-CBN's Darna remake.

In a follow-up tweet quoting the one who gave her the food gift, the local star clarified that she loves tinapa. "Hindi ko lang inexpect na isda yung bubungad sakin when I unwrapped the crepe paper with a ribbon. Excited to fry this litol fishy. Tankoo!" she said.
