Kylie Verzosa reveals she hasn't interacted with Jake Cuenca for two years: 'Exes should remain exes'

Kylie Verzosa gave an update on her and ex-boyfriend Jake Cuenca's relationship since their separation, revealing that they haven't interacted with each other for two years now.

The actress got candid on how she felt about her former flame as she made a guest appearance on Karen Davila's YouTube vlog. During their conversation, Karen opened the topic of why things didn't work out between the two of them.

While Kylie opted to keep that part of their lives to themselves, she shared that she is "grateful for everything that happened."

"He's such a good person and I have nothing but good things to say about him," she said.

The local star went on to reveal that she and Jake have not communicated with each other since calling it quits in April 2022.

"It's been two years now, I think," Kylie said, much to the shock of Karen, who asked if they had not exchanged a simple hello to one another. "We've never [said hello]. We've never seen each other. We've never spoken."

"I think it should be like that. Exes should remain exes," she added.

Since then, Kylie has reignited her heart with a new flame as she is now in a "private relationship" with her non-showbiz partner. When asked how she would describe her new romance, the actress simply said, "Amazing, the best."

She called the experience of having a boyfriend who isn't in the entertainment industry "more peaceful" since there's "no pressure in the relationship."

"It's something I appreciate na tinatago ko lang para sa sarili ko. Yes, I am in showbiz and so many parts of my life [are] exposed to the public, but this is something special and ours to keep," she continued.

Kylie said that she hopes to enter the married life in the future and have kids, emphasizing that she "would love to be a mom."

Prior to this, the Miss International 2016 titleholder also spoke up about her belief that exes shouldn't be friends in an interview with Ogie Diaz on his YouTube channel.

"Respeto rin sa bago mong partner at sa bago niyang partner," she reasoned. "You can be civil, pero 'yung nakikipag-usap ka ng, 'Hi, how are you?' To me, medyo weird 'yun."

"You can be civil. You don't have any bad feelings towards each other, but I don't think there should still be a friendship. Kasi bakit pa?" she continued. "If it’s a quick relationship, sure, you can be friends. Why not? But if it’s a long, committed relationship, and about the future, then no."

Kylie and Jake were together for three years before their breakup. The latter is now rumored to be dating actress Chie Filomeno.
