Dolly de Leon heads to the Alps with Nicole Kidman in 'Nine Perfect Strangers' season 2 first look
Filipina actress Dolly de Leon is joining the crew in the Alps in the second season of the thriller series Nine Perfect Strangers.
Hulu released a first look at season two, revealing Dolly as Agnes, at a snowy retreat alongside Annie Murphy, King Princess, Christine Baranski, and Nicole Kidman, who plays a "mysterious guru."
“Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself,” the official description of season two reads.
Also joining the cast are Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Lucas Englander, Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin.
The series will premiere with the first two episodes on Prime Video on May 22, followed by weekly releases.
Nine Perfect Strangers is based on the novel of the same title written by Liane Moriarty. It was first released in September 2021, starring Melissa McCarthy, Samara Weaving, Melvin Gregg, and Grace Van Patten, among others. It followed the story of a group of people in a mysterious wellness retreat, tackling and dealing with their personal baggage. Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto was previously cast in the first season as Yao.
Dolly made waves in the international scene in 2022 for her role as Abigail, a toilet manager-turned-captain in the Triangle of Sadness, bagging the Best Supporting Performance award from the LA Film Critics Association, a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at BAFTA, and becoming the first Filipino to be nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards.
