After their bitter breakup, Kris Aquino is now ready to let bygones be bygones with her former fiancé Mel Sarmiento.

In an Instagram post to remember the supposed 62nd birthday of the late former president Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III, Kris shared that she is ready to turn the page from her previous relationship with Sarmiento, who was her brother’s Interior secretary.

"I know you wanted to teach me how to practice humility and not to post anything that later on I may regret… sorry sumablay lang kay Mel [Senen Sarmiento], kasi pumatol ako and nag comment when I should’ve just shut up,” Aquino wrote on the caption.

“After i post this i’ll message him na all is forgiven & forgotten,” said Aquino.

The two announced their engagement in October of 2021, then confirmed their separation in early 2022.

In the same post, Kris also shared a video of her and sons, Josh and James 'Bimby' Yap, greeting the former president. Kris then requested her sons to step away from the camera before it cut away to a clip of herself being treated for her autoimmune disease, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria.

In the caption of the video, the actress and host opened up about not expressing enough love and letting her brother down.

"I love you so much. I’m so sorry na hindi ko nasabi enough times when you were still here. I’m sorry for letting you down, but I know nakita mo how much your death has profoundly changed me," Kris began.

"Time to stop looking back, free myself from the past, focus on today and still have enough FAITH to look forward to tomorrow."

She went on to hope that her brother was enjoying “bonding” with their late parents, Ninoy Aquino and Corazon Aquino: "WE ALL LOVE YOU and we really miss you- but kuya josh & bimb, they still really need me. Ikaw nang bahala, okay."
