Moira Dela Torre shuts down netizen who made negative remark about childless women
Moira Dela Torre called out a basher who made a rude remark about childless women.
In a TikTok video shared by the singer-songwriter on her Facebook page, a netizen left a seemingly unfinished negative comment: “Kahit anong ganda ng isang tao, kapag hindi magka-anak..."
Moira didn't let the rude remark slide and decided to list down several "options" to continue the sentence in defense of women who don't have kids.
"'Kahit anong ganda ng isang tao, kapag hindi magka-anak... ' maganda pa rin / hindi pa tamang oras / wala sa tamang tao / choice nila yon/ wala kang pakielam," she wrote.
Moira criticized the social media user for degrading childless women and stressed that it shouldn't be a measure to determine their worth.
"Pangarap ko din maging nanay balang araw, pero marami tayong kayang gawin bilang babae, hindi lang pag-aanak kaya itigil mo 'yang pagsukat ng halaga ng mga babae sa kung kaya niya mag-anak o hindi. Hindi po maganda 'yan," Moira wrote, ending her comment with a "good morning."
In a joint statement in May, Moira and her now ex-husband Jason Marvin Hernandez announced their split after three years of marriage. Jason eventually revealed that he had been unfaithful to her during their time together.
