This year's Asia Artist Awards (AAA) have been shining bright well ahead of the event, with the star-studded ceremony adding three more Pinoy fan favorites to its promising lineup: Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, and Melai Cantiveros.

The event's co-host StarNews Korea made the announcement on its website on Wednesday, Oct. 18, almost two months ahead of the prestigious awards night happening on Dec. 14 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

The popular love team of Kathryn and Daniel or "KathNiel," as well as comedian-host Melai, will be joining P-pop groups SB19 and HORI7ON who were previously confirmed to be part of the Filipino acts in the lineup.

Established in 2016, AAA is dubbed Asia's Oscar and Grammy Awards for recognizing the outstanding achievements and international contributions of South Korean artists in Asian television, film, and music. For the first time ever, this year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by the Philippines.

Since the event was announced last August, several famous Hallyu stars have been confirmed to grace the event, including Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Sejeong, Kim Seonho, and Moon Gayoung as well as K-pop acts NewJeans, Le Sserafim, NMIXX, BOYNEXTDOOR, and Zerobaseone, among others.

Meanwhile, Kathryn's participation at the Hallyu-centric event comes after the Kapamilya star won the Outstanding Asian Star at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023 on Sept. 21 at the KBS Hall in South Korea. She was recognized for her performance as a nurse named Ali in the hit ABS-CBN series 2 Good 2 Be True

Melai, for her part, is set to star in Ma'am Chief Shakedown in Seoul which was filmed in Korea. Produced by Pulp Studios, the action-comedy flick will reportedly feature surprise cameos from Korean superstars Lee Seung Gi and fellow actor Do Ji Han.

AAA 2023 is organized by the Asia Artist Awards Organizing Committee, StarNews Korea, and local event organizer PULP Live World.

Last year's edition was held in Nagoya, Japan and was hosted by Super Junior’s Leeteuk and IVE’s Wonyoung.
