BL actors Both and Newyear officially engaged after legalization of same-sex marriage in Thailand

Both Nuttapong proposed to his BL co-star Newyear Kitiwhut anew after Thailand became the first Southeast Asian country to allow same-sex marriage.

Newyear posted some snaps of Both's marriage proposal to him in an Instagram post as he shared a part of their conversation.

"Will you marry me?" Both got down on one knee and asked Newyear. To which, the latter replied: "I said 'yes' from the first day we met."

The two got officially engaged after the approval of the marriage equality bill in Thailand. On June 18, the Senate upper house gave it the green light, making it the third place in Asia where same-sex pairs can tie the knot after Taiwan and Nepal.

They first got engaged in September 2023 after being together for 11 years.

Newyear and Both became famous for their roles in several Thai BL shows, most notably in the 2021 romantic drama series Top Secret Together where they played a gay couple. After the drama ended, the two of them turned their onscreen romance into a reality.
