Opulence Ball 2024: Filipino celebrities return to retro in their best party costumes
The 70s called, they want their style back from these stunning celebrities at this year's Opulence Ball!
As the popular Halloween event returned for its third edition at Makati's Manila Peninsula, Filipino stars seemingly went back in time as they donned the glamour of the 1970s. The theme this year is "The Velvet Underground," which is inspired by the hedonistic fashion and individuality of the decade.
These local stars certainly did not disappoint when it came to reviving the style of the past, donning their best “dance-floor ready” looks in shimmer, shine, and hip bell bottoms.
Read on to find out the outfits that caught our eye the most:
Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan
Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan were a perfect combination in their retro looks for the ball.
Belle channeled her golden girl energy as she wore a yellow-gold dress with a thigh-high slit, which she elevated with a ruffled tulle and an eye-catching arm cuff.
Donny, on the other hand, complemented his date's style with a matching black top underneath a gray pantsuit that's covered in glittering rhinestones.
Barbie Imperial
Barbie Imperial made her Opulence Ball debut, and she undoubtedly did not disappoint with her outfit that just oozes with royalty.
Barbie appeared to look like a bleeding queen in her jaw-dropping red gown decked with sequins. She capped off the ensemble with some matching gloves, a pearl necklace that resembles dripping blood, and a gorgeous headpiece reminiscent of a crown.
Chie Filomeno
Chie Filomeno is Cher and she doesn't need a man to shine!
The dancer-actress added a dash of elegance at the Opulence Ball as she donned a glittering silver dress by Maison Soriano that confidently showed off her toned abs. Complementing her attire was a vintage fur coat that can easily enhance any retro look.
Richard and Raymond Gutierrez
Last but definitely not the least, dashing twins Richard and Raymond Gutierrez proved that they are certified scene-stealers when it comes to fashion events with their striking outfits.
Richard went with a Western look as he wore a black leather fringe jacket and pants complete with a sexy cowboy hat, a bullhead belt buckle, and a red scarf.
Raymond meanwhile showed why he is one of the brainchildren of the ball as he came in a sleeveless top and pants made out of silver sequins, making him look like a living, breathing disco ball.
Boom Sason
You can't say it was the 70s without the icon Diana Ross. Fashion designer Boom Sason nailed the singer's iconic style, from the outfit to the big, bold hair.
Bubbles Paraiso
