Atsuko Okatsuka made sure to make the most out of her visit to Manila by riding a jeepney for the first time.

The Japanese-Taiwanese stand-up comedian on Tuesday, July 16 shared on Instagram her jeepney experience, which she described as “fun.”

“Hello from the Philippines,” she captioned her post, with the hashtag, “#notojeepneyphaseout.”

“I’m in a jeepney that is pretty much their public transportation [in the Philippines],” she said in the video.

She went on to describe the jeepney by comparing it to a bus, calling the windows “all open holes.”

“You ever been in a bus with a full hole in the back?” she said. “This is like a rollercoaster, except it gets you to work. Come on, how fun is that?” she added.

She added that the experience also allows people to meet new friends, she even confirmed it to a random passenger, who gave her a smile and a thumbs-up sign.

Fans and celebrities welcomed her in the post’s comments section.

Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, who has been living in the country for a few months, commented, “Welcome to the Philippines. [D]on’t worry the windows close when it rains.”

“Enjoy the PH! They are trying to get rid of the Jeepney. I’m glad you were able to experience before anything happens. Mabuhay!” actress Emy Coligado also commented.

“You say, 'Para po' when you want the jeep to [stop.] Enjoy,” an Instagram user commented, to which Atsuko replied, “yes!!! I learned it and the passing of the money from back to front!!!”

Atsuko held her three sold-out shows in Bonifacio Global City last July 13 and 14 as part of her International Full Grown Tour. She also has a show on HBO titled, The Intruder.
