Victoria Beckham speaks out on cheating allegations against David Beckham
Victoria Beckham has reacted to allegations that David Beckham cheated on her in the past.
In the Wednesday episode of Alex Cooper's podcast, Call Her Daddy, the host asked the fashion designer, “Speculation then at some point in your entire career came out about your marriage, and I know David's [documentary] touched on this.”
The podcast host was referring to David’s four-part 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham, where he discussed the affair claim of his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos.
In 2004, Loos claimed to now-defunct UK tabloid News of the World, that she and the former professional football player had a months-long affair while he was playing for Real Madrid.
Since the allegations came out, David, 50, had always denied them, telling media in interviews that the accusation was "ludicrous."
During her podcast, Cooper asked Victoria, 51, about it, “Can you just explain to me for you and David, how did you handle all that, when that came?”
The former Spice Girl replied, "We were talking about it because we've recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary, and by the way, people said it wouldn't work 26 years."
"We've had so much thrown at us and we've always just been there together and just ridden the storm, ridden the damn storm," she added.
The couple tied the knot in 1999. They share four children.
Rumors about their marriage being in trouble began when David made the controversial move from English football club Manchester United to Spanish football club Real Madrid.
In a report by The Independent, the public speculated about Victoria's hesitance to move to Spain. Tabloids reported she didn't like the local food and "was fussy" about schools for her children.
The Independent reported that the scrutiny over the Beckhams' marriage intensified when the Loos affair controversy came out. To add to the allegations, Loos also claimed she found the footballer in bed with another woman at a party in 2003.
Victoria said that period was the most difficult in their marriage. In Beckham, Victoria said, “Up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other. But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad.”
In early July, the Beckhams celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary, posting sweet tributes to each other on Instagram.
