Catriona Gray reveals challenging part of planning her wedding: 'I've never been to a wedding as an adult'
Wedding bells for the Miss Universe 2018 and her beau, actor Sam Milby, are all loud and clear as they prepare for their big day. While Catriona looks at it with much excitement, the beauty queen couldn't help but admit that wedding planning is challenging too.
Apart from the event's intricacies, Catriona has revealed one reason for this that many may not be aware of.
“The thing that makes it (wedding planning) difficult, which is actually really odd: I’ve never been to a wedding as an adult,” Catriona told entertainment outlet Metro.Style. "The last wedding I attended, I was like nine years old and I was like a flower girl for my Tito."
“So, yeah, I have absolutely no idea how weddings are supposed to go, the flow of the program,” she added.
The 29-year-old model-beauty queen then turns to her fiancé for all the help she needs. She said, "I keep asking Sam who, on the contrary, has been to a lot of weddings. So, he’s my reference point for that."
Like any bride-to-be, Catriona wouldn't deny that "there's so much detail" that must be considered for her big day. At the end of the day, she still considers all the work "a lot of fun."
She continued, “I’m just wanting to get all the logistics stuff out of the way so I can focus on the creative part, which I really love."
To help her manage these, she also has her mood boards and vision boards to collate their pegs, from the venue's design to her desired colors.
“It’s fun but also overwhelming, but a lot of fun,” she said.
Catriona also mentioned that Sam mostly lets her decide on their wedding but she enjoys it more when they collaborate.
“We’re really collaborating on anything, which I think is great. I also want to feel his voice in the wedding,” she said.
“Because his motto is really like 'I just want you to be happy. It’s your day.' I’m like, 'I know, but I want your vision in here too,'” she added.
Sam first went “Instagram official” with Catriona on his birthday in 2020. They got engaged in February 2023 and are set to say their "I do's" in 2024.
